Health Promotion Articles

This section explains how to create and manage your organization's health promotion articles that you wish to appear on the participant's Motivation home page.

Select "Your Organization's News & Announcements"

1. Click on "Content" from the Motivation Administration Menu.
2. Click on "Health Promotion Articles (Resources)" from the drop-down menu.

Content Categories

1. Edit Categories: Click the Edit Categories to edit the resource categories. (See the "Resource Categories" section.)
2. Categories: Click on the category name of the category that you wish to add/edit an article/link for.

Articles in Category

1. Create New Article: Click the Create New Article link to create a new article. (See the "Create New Article" section below.)
2. Create New Link: Click the Create New Link link to create a new link to an existing article, or website. (See the "Create New Link" section below.)
3. Return to Library: Click the Return to Library link to return to the content library.
4. Article Title: Click the articles title to view, or edit, an existing article or link.
5. Delete: Click the Delete link to delete an existing article, or link. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion.

Create New Article

1. Category: The category will default to category that you have selected, although you could place the article in a different category by selecting a different category from the drop down menu.
2. Title: Enter the title of your article.
3. Summary: Enter a summary for the article. This summary will appear below the article title in the "Feature" section of the participant's home page.
4. Thumbnail Picture: Select the thumbnail picture that you wish to appear next to the article in the "Feature" section of the participant's home page. Click the Show Pictures link to see the available thumbnails.
5. Include on Menu: Check this box if you wish the article to appear on the resource menu.
6. In Main Area, Display Priority: Click the drop down to change the display priority of the article, 5 being the highest priority.
7. Show Article from: Enter the date that you wish the article to appear from.
8. Show Article until: Enter the date that you wish the article to appear until.
9. Organization: If your site is licensed for multiple organizations, you can restrict this article to a particular organization by selecting the specific organization from the drop down list.
10. Location: If your site is licensed for multiple locations, you can restrict this article to a particular location by selecting the specific location from the drop down list.
11. Enter the content of your article here.

1. Click the "Submit" button to save your article.
2. Click the Cancel & Return link to exit without saving your article.

Create New Link

1. Category: The category will default to category that you have selected.
2. Title: Enter the title of your article.
3. Summary: Enter a summary for the article. This summary will appear below the article title in the "Feature" section of the participant's home page.
4. URL (Link): Enter the URL/Address of the link/web page you wish the link to point to. If you are linking to an article that you uploaded to the library (See the "Uploading a Document to Motivation" section of the manual.) you will will need to enter the link as in the above example: "../Library/Docs/Healthy Lunch Scorecard.pdf". If this a link to an external website such as BSDIweb.com, enter as: "http://bsdiweb.com"
5 Thumbnail Picture: Select the thumbnail picture that you wish to appear next to the article in the "Feature" section of the participant's home page. Click the Show Pictures link to see the available thumbnails.
6. Include on Menu: Check this box if you wish the article to appear on the resource menu.
7. In Main Area, Display Priority: Click the drop down to change the display priority of the article, 5 being the highest priority.
8. Show Article from: Enter the date that you wish the article to appear from.
9. Show Article until: Enter the date that you wish the article to appear until.

11. Location: If your site is licensed for multiple locations, you can restrict this article to a particular location by selecting the specific location from the drop down list.
12. Other Settings: Check the "Open in New Window?" check box if you wish the link to open in a new web browser window. BSDI recommends that you check this box, it is checked by default.
13. Submit: Click the "Submit" button to save your link.
